This October 17–19, 2025, the skies over Statesville, North Carolina will be filled with color, magic, and history as the Carolina BalloonFest celebrates its 50th Anniversary. That’s right — half a century of ballooning tradition!

Founded in 1974, the Carolina BalloonFest is the second oldest hot air balloon festival in the United States. Year after year, it has brought joy to generations with its vibrant balloon launches, family-friendly atmosphere, and Southern charm. Now celebrating its golden anniversary, 2025 promises to be the most exciting festival yet.
In fact, the North Carolina General Assembly is even considering a bill to designate Carolina BalloonFest as the official balloon rally of the state — a well-deserved honor for such a longstanding tradition.
